Man, I've got lots to post about.
First and foremost, I'm going to be moving to Scotland for a year. Yes, a year. I interviewed for an internship with Wood Group Engineering (North Sea). This basically means that I'll get a year of engineering design on offshore platforms rather than on downstream refineries. I've never been overseas, so this will be quite the experience. As an additional bonus, I've been informed that I will be given one of these to drive for the year:
1.1 Litres baby!!!!
The other guy that's being sent is a really cool character. He and his wife are about our age, both graduated in May, and are christians, all good things. Hopefully they will be able to stand us for the year.
We get a good chunk of vacation time, so I hope I'll be able to do some travelling, as well as still get home for holidays and the like. I'll have some more updates as this gets closer, and perhaps even an entirely different blog for the trip. I've got a few other posts in the mix as well. I'll put the finishing touches on them in the next couple of days.
Love all around.

Hey Chris, wow you're certainly doing great things! Congratulations!
My wife and I are in Austin right now attending UT, so if you get around our area we should get together for a bit. I'd love to see you and I know Katy would enjoy meeting Valeri.
Shoot me off an email sometime: normanh(at)mail.utexas.edu, replace with the 'at' sign, you know the drill.
Take care,
~Norman Horn

Heck yeah he's a cool guy! 3 cheers for the Nissan Micra: cost-effective, fuel efficient, and a great tool for fending off selfish pride. I guess I'll have to keep on that whole "boasting in the Lord" thing.
Had an old college buddy who has worked 3+ years overseas for exxon, and they've had him out on platforms and stuff off the coast of Nigeria and whatnot. It's pretty cool, but can be pretty isolating at times, if you're actually out on the rig.
