Well, the first week of work has come and gone. It's a bit intimidating, as I have realized that there is quite a bit that I don't know, or at least did know when I took the class, but have since forgotten. There is a huge intuitive part of this business that I have yet to figure out. The way things work around the office is that people are put on projects. If no projects are available, they are considered on "overhead." That's where I am, since there were no new projects available. I'm working on a faux project in order to get used to stuff--sizing equipment and playing with the simulation software and the like. Otherwise, it's pretty much a desk job. I'm not used to sitting still for an entire day, but at the same time it is nice to have all of my work concentrated into one time frame, rather than at college, where you'd have a free hour here and there with meetings scattered all over the day. Life has been interesting. We've begun the church search, which should be fun. Most of the churches around here are ginormous. Second Baptist, which we visited last week, has four, count 'em, four "campuses" throughout the city. It was decent, but with a huge performance factor, which is disappointing. We'll go back and see what happens. Updates will come as things happen. Love all around. Give me a call, life is much more sane now.
Comments:
Okay, please explain the kitten and peanut butter thing, I don't get it at all. Also, I know you probably don't want to post your phone number and address on your blog, so will you please email it to me at guitar_girl77@yahoo.com? Thanks! Just talked with your mom...you'll be more comfortable with the run of things in a week or two. Let me know how the church search turns out. Houston is where Joel Osteen the "motivational speaker/oh yeah, I'm supposed to be a pastor" is, isn't it?

I hear a hurricane is coming your way! You guys be careful!

Love,

MOM

Got a new project yet?

Give Val a hug from us!
