Oh yeah! I have a blog. Hi blog. Sorry I have neglected you for so long.
There are 30 more days until we graduate, and yes, we're going to graduate. Here's the plan: graduate, work for a couple more weeks, go on vacation, visit my family, visit val's family, move to houston, find a place to live, find Val a job, start my job...though not necessarily in that order.
Spring break was a lot of fun. We stayed at the Pine Hollow Inn in Galena, IL. Now, I know what you're thinking: "You went to Illinois for your last spring break??" Yes, we did. We were going to go to Colorado, but found that the weather was going to get bad while we were driving through the rockies. Instead, we spent our time relaxing (much needed), hiking, shopping, eating, and driving. The B&B was one of those places where you could be awakened by the sound of birds, and the sun through the skylight, rather than an alarm. We saw the craziest hailstorm I have ever encountered, and had many other memorable moments.
Here are some pics:
These are all from Apple River Canyon St. Park, which is about half an hour from Galena. We made the trip to hike and picnic for one day. It was quite a windy day, and my lovely wife insisted that we stop at the "scenic outlook" tower that you see in the fourth picture. Most of you know my distaste for heights, much less standing on top of an open structure made entirely of wood, with 45mph gusts helping me out. I was not happy. Let's leave it at that.
But overall, we had tons of fun.

Oh c'mon, you had fun at the scenic tower...for the first rung or two. ;) You offered to stop at the site, so it wasn't exactly all my idea. Mostly, but not all. Thanks for having the enthusiasm to tackle that thing--it was great up at the top. And I'm here to testify that it was extremely windy up there. Love you.
About the time I decide you're never going to blog again, you finally post. I'm glad you had a fun trip. Most of the time, it's not where you go, but who you're with, and just getting away from the normal routine. We're glad we're on your list of things to do between graduation and new job!
I will say that I loved Val's response to her "picture" someone posted on dwebb ("Well that's before makeup") Hannah's response was "Well I've seen her before makeup and she looks nothing like that!" I would agree. Val is lovely, inside and out. I'm glad God brought you together.
Love you both,
MOM

After looking at the picture with your tongue sticking out, Wendy wanted to know if you got your tongue pierced?

um, no. That's just the size reduction of the picture that makes it look like that. I'm not sure my new employer would appreciate finding some strange freaky addition to my face when I show up in Houston.
