Well, hello. Now that it has been a solid month since my last post, I feel that it is time to jump back on the blogging train. It has been a long month, so I'll simply fill in the highlights.
Finals week stank, but I had a 4.0 semester (which was one of my goals for this school year)
This was the first Christmas with trying to spend semi-equal time with both sides of my newlywed family, which was tons of fun. I got to see all of my enid friends, which was absolutely awesome (a shout out to all of you that read).
The drive up to Fulton was crazy, as it was the first time either one of us had gone through Kansas City. Madness, I say.
Working at the radio station was working at the radio station.
Christmas at Val's house was a riot as well. I got to play cranium for the first time. For anyone that has played, what exactly happens when you hit the brain thingie. We had a big fight over the interpretation of the rules. I'm more competitive than I thought. We got some snow on our belated Christmas, which was great. On the way back home, however, we almost got sideswiped, and almost hit a deer. We were quite lucky both times. Scary stuff.
Finally, as many of you know, I got to travel to Houston, TX to visit Mustang Engineering, an oil industry firm, for a tour. At the end of the day, I was offered a job as a process design engineer with them. We don't know whether or not we will take it yet, but it is good to have at least something to fall back on if nothing else materializes. There are plenty of ChemE jobs down there, so Val should be able to find something easily, as well as two good schools with masters level degrees, and degrees in music. We've had a lot of fun researching the city and all it has to offer. I'll keep everyone updated on the situation.

Congrats on the 4.0. We played Cranium, too. When we went to the center, we then played each category around the brain. Whoever got around the brain first won. But Tim moved for us, so I didn't read the rules. It was fun except Hannah and JJ didn't know too many of the songs that you had to hum. And I didn't recognize Good Vibrations when Tim hummed it.(Beach Boys are one of my favorite groups, so it must have his humming that was bad). We also played Taboo at the annual Dewall New Year's Rockin Eve. Glad you made it home safely. You might think about Houston traffic, if you think Kansas City is bad!
Love you guys!

This is Angie.
I also played Cranium that way...when you get to the brain you have to do one card of each color (or category...I don't remember exactly how the cards go) in order to win the game.

And also, I thought of you today! I bought The Village on DVD and there was a preview for a summer movie on there. Guess what it was? The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. That's right, it's coming to the big screen. Thought you might want to know.

We took the youth to Guthrie this weekend and played Cranium and we did the same thing when we got to the center. Were you talking about the brain in the center or were you talking about any time you land on a purple brain? I LOVE HUMDINGERS! I know ALL the songs! Once you land on a purple brain if you get it, you get to go to either the fast track or stay on the slow track, but I'm sure you knew that. I am also really good at spelling sdrawkcab! Well, actually I messed up on the word: "catastrophe" so I kept spelling it backwards all day long after that. I am not very good at cameos or the sculptorades, and okay at the data head questions. Data head is all you isn't it?
By the way Beth, TTFN is our favorite bouncing friend Tigger's favorite saying from Winnie the Pooh! "Ta, Ta For Now!" :)
(Chris) Yes, Houston sounds fine to me. Driving scary? Also yes.

Actually, that first anonymous post was me, MOM. And I really should have recognized the Beach Boys because they are one of my favorite groups (Help Me Rhonda, of course). Oh well. Love you!
