Well, the end of another summer has arrived, as well as the beginning of another school year. This week the various members of the BSU have gathered to strategize as to how to reach out to the freshmen class that are here this week. It is a tough proceedure due to some of the new restrictions with the various privacy acts that have been passed. The BSU was not given school addresses of the various students that expressed interest in our organization (or at least labelled their religious status as "baptist"), nor were we allowed to offer to help students move in unless they first visited us at our building and asked for it. This was a great detriment to us trying to reach out to these students, but at the same time gives us a great opportunity. This opportunity is to, rather than blanket contact these kids, we are forced to really give individual contact, in a hopefully more personal and meaningful way. It has also forced us to not worry about sheer numbers, and to trust that God will provide the students that need, and that we need to be a part of our ministry.
But at the same time, it is quite frustrating.

Ok, the deal with the archives...It looks you have them set up by month. So why not just show the current month. The only reason it matters to me is that we have to scroll down to the very end to see the links and stuff. They used to show up at the top, but they don't anymore. It's your blog, so set it up the way you want. So, do the same rules apply to all the other organizations on campus...fraternities, etc.? Our guest preacher yesterday said something that I remembered when I read your post. He said Jesus spoke to large crowds, fed the 5000, was followed by large crowds (at first), but he ministered one-on-one. It goes back to what we were saying earlier about the mass distribution evangelism (Jesus video, Passion movie, etc) Really the best evangelism is developing a personal relationship. Hmmm. Love you guys! MOM (Hi Val!)
With the archives thing, that might be something to do with the resolution of your screen. I know JJ and Dad change it all the time with some of the programs you use. I went ahead and limited it to 10 posts per page. Let me know if this helps.
